20 Bible Verses About Love


Love is at the very center of the Christian message. God himself has shown us great love, and we in turn are to reflect his love to others. There is a wealth of teaching in God’s word about this love; here is just a sample.


1. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” – Deuteronomy 6:4-5


2. “All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.” – Psalm 25:10


3. “You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.” – Exodus 15:13


4. “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” – Psalm 103:8


5. “Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.” – John 17:25
